Every year when we play Canisius it’s a slugfest. And it was no different this year. Our first game it was a back and forth battle all day. By the bottom of the fourth we were winning 8-5 and then the wheels came off. Canisius struck back for seven runs in the 6th inning taking a 12-8 lead and the eventual win. However, we still had another game today and we couldn’t let this loss affect us too much.
Chad Gallagher started the second game on the mound and kept the momentum on our side. Gallagher threw a complete game giving up only 3 three runs. The Red Fox offense kept swinging the bats and put up seven runs in the top of the second and never looked back. We ended up putting another six runs on the board and picked up the win. After bearing the Buffalo cold all day, we split the double header and will have a rubber match tomorrow with Kyle Putnam starting on the bump.
